At Somaya Support Center, you'll become part of a dedicated team contributing to creating a safer and more inclusive society. About Us Somaya Support Center is a religiously and politically independent non-profit organization belonging to the national organization Unizon. We are IVO-approved and offer protection and support to women and LGBTQI+ individuals experiencing domestic violence or honor-related violence and oppression. We are a multilingual organization with over 25 years of experience working with our target group. Our vision is a society where gender equality, equality, and participation are a given. About the Position We are seeking an independent and confident contact person/counselor for our protected operations. You will work closely with our clients, providing both practical help and counseling support. The work includes: ● Crisis and support counseling ● Social guidance ● Support in contact with authorities and other actors ● Structured threat and risk assessments ● Development of implementation and safety plans ● Journaling and other documentation Together with your colleagues, you will also staff our national support line, offering advice and support to victims of violence, relatives, and other professionals. The position includes on-call duty during evenings and weekends according to schedule, and the opportunity to provide counseling support in our open operations. Personal Qualities You are relationship-oriented and have a good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You have a trauma-aware and empathetic approach and a genuine interest in individuals with specific vulnerability factors. You are comfortable with difficult conversations and meeting people in crisis, and you are committed to addressing the complex support needs of our clients. You have strong self-leadership and are comfortable working independently and structuring your own work, but also value close, non-hierarchical collaboration in a small work group. You have the ability to be flexible when circumstances change and actively contribute to a sustainable and respectful work environment. Qualifications - Requirements We are seeking someone who: ● Is a trained social worker or has equivalent education ● Has at least two years of qualified social work experience ● Communicates fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing ● Has good knowledge of at least one language beyond Swedish and English. Arabic and Persian are particularly meritorious. ● Has a good ability to establish contact with people in crisis ● Has a trauma-aware approach Meritorious qualifications: ● Previous work at women's shelters, protected housing, or within social services ● Training in domestic violence and honor-related violence ● Training in threat and risk assessment tools (SARA, Patriark, Freda, HEVA, iRisk) ● Basic psychotherapy education (Step 1) ● Documented knowledge of trauma ● Driving license (B-class) Diversity is a matter of course for us, and we welcome applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
