We are currently seeking a social worker for the Children and Youth Unit, ages 0-20.
The Children and Youth area is part of the Social Department at the Södermalm District Administration. This area consists of a reception unit, three investigation units; children, youth, and 0-20, a family law unit, as well as a family care unit and contact activities. The Children and Youth area is led by an area manager and five unit managers. There are two coordinators who provide support in operational matters and orientation for new employees. Additionally, there is a school coordinator and a SIP coordinator. In total, we have about 65 employees. We work in modern facilities in Hammarby Sjöstad.

Your role
As a social worker, you will assess the needs of children and youth for protection and support and follow up on approved interventions regarding youth and their families. Your work is based on current legislation, guidelines, and knowledge support. The work is conducted from a systems theory perspective, focusing on the resources, strengths, and risks present in the family and network.
You will receive continuous support from your unit manager and colleagues in your work. You will work in pairs during investigations and assist each other between units. You will regularly participate in method support and external supervision. Everyone who starts in the unit receives an individual introduction plan.
In the Children and Youth area, we strive for good collaboration across the entire Social Department, and you will have the opportunity to participate as a representative in various collaboration groups, such as with LSS, domestic violence teams, field groups, etc.
Your qualifications and experience
For this position, you are required to have:
- A degree in social work
- Several years of professional experience as a social worker with authority in child and youth matters or treatment with children and youth
- Understanding and good knowledge of current legislation in relevant areas
- Strong ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Training in Signs of Safety
- Further education in assessment instruments such as SAVRY, EARL, ADAD
We expect you to work in a structured and responsible manner by planning and prioritizing your work based on set goals and timelines. At the same time, you should have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work with a great variety, switching between different tasks. We are looking for someone who sees the challenge in managing complex cases and sharing knowledge/experiences with your colleagues.
