About this role

**About the Job** As a social worker in the Young Adults team, you will be part of one of the three Adult Units within the South West Social Administration. Within the Young Adults team, there are eight social workers, led by two senior social workers and a unit manager. In this role, you will handle both other forms of assistance and income support. The target group consists of individuals aged 18-24 with challenges and needs across multiple areas of life. Since you will be managing both other forms of assistance and income support, you will work with the individual's comprehensive needs, which we see as a success factor. The target group is at a formative age where significant life events occur, and it is important to meet the client where they are, adopting a holistic perspective. You will assess the need for interventions based on various life challenges while also recognizing the person’s strengths. In your daily work, you will investigate applications and follow up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Special Provisions Act for the Care of Young Persons (LVU), and in some cases, the Act on the Care of Persons with Substance Abuse Problems (LVM). When needs arise, you will also investigate applications for financial assistance, doing so in close collaboration with your clients. To leverage each other’s experiences and receive support in your daily work, you will be offered methodological guidance from senior social workers as well as external process counseling. The key to our success lies in our commitment to each individual case, our effective collaboration within our social office, and with other stakeholders such as relatives, addiction care, support for disabilities, psychiatry, volunteer organizations, and others. We value the time we invest in each case. We strive to maintain a low case load to work intensively with each individual to support them towards an independent life. The team contributes drive, engagement, extensive expertise, and a passion for their mission. All adult authority functions are located in the same building, which facilitates internal collaboration within the department. Our premises are located a stone's throw from Frölunda Torg, with good transport connections and access to lunch restaurants. We care about a good working environment and value having a workplace where everyone can thrive and develop. Welcome with your application! **About You** We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in public authority operations within social services, preferably in several areas. You should have an interest and competence in working with young adults who require support across various life domains. You take responsibility for your own and the group’s tasks. You share your experiences with your colleagues and are also good at listening to the opinions of others. You understand the collective mission and work towards achieving it as effectively as possible. You are meticulous and capable of prioritizing and structuring your work while following up on the outcomes. You understand how legislation sets the framework for our mission and are adept at navigating what is your responsibility versus that of other stakeholders. You are friendly and helpful to others, even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you encounter in your job. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that users receive what they need to live an independent life. You convey information and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message is received. You adapt your communication based on the recipient, target group, and situation. **Additional Information** To comply with GDPR requirements and facilitate good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or letter. If you have protected personal information, do NOT apply through the system but contact the recruiting manager for the handling of your application.
