At Social Services - Economic Assistance, you make a real difference. We work on investigating the right to economic assistance and help people take the next step towards self-sufficiency – a mission that requires professionalism, commitment, and attentiveness. We are approximately 190 employees divided into a reception unit, six investigation units, a work coordination unit, administration and service, and operational support.
We are committed to ensuring you feel secure in your role. Therefore, you will receive a comprehensive introduction, access to experienced colleagues to consult with, and regular supervision. You have the opportunity to work from home two days a week if work tasks allow.
Subsistence Support Unit 6 is a unit where we work with individuals experiencing some form of ill health, and where contact with healthcare guides our work. The unit includes social workers, qualified case managers, SIP coordinators, team leaders, and unit managers.
Job Responsibilities
Your tasks include supporting individuals in achieving self-sufficiency while investigating and assessing the right to economic assistance. We work in an engaged and unpretentious team where we help each other, share our knowledge, and support one another.
Our workdays are varied and involve extensive contact with individuals needing economic assistance, as well as other authorities, healthcare, and the municipality's labor market division.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a social work degree or another education that the employer deems relevant for the position. The work requires excellent verbal and written Swedish skills and good knowledge of social services legislation. To succeed in the role, you should have experience with economic assistance or other administrative work.
Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) is considered meritorious.
As a person, you take responsibility for your tasks, independently structure your approach, and drive processes forward. You remain motivated and efficient despite setbacks and disappointments. You work until the project is completed or results are achieved. Furthermore, you can empathize with another's perspective or situation without absorbing their emotions. We also seek someone who is calm, attentive, and accommodating in interactions, with a genuine interest and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. Additionally, you effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work while setting and meeting deadlines.
