About this role

Job Responsibilities About the Unit Reception/Adults SoL We are growing and are now seeking two committed and confident social workers to join the Reception in the City Center! Our unit is divided into two workgroups: Adults SoL, which is responsible for processing cases for adults who need help and support according to the Social Services Act (SoL), and the Reception, which is responsible for receiving all new cases to the authority within the city area. Currently, there are 5 social workers in the Reception and 9 social workers in the investigation group Adults SoL. We are expanding and will now add two social workers to our Reception. We are a dedicated group that enjoys working together and values collaboration, care, and structure in our daily routines. There is a strong sense of collegiality here, accompanied by a desire to develop together. The city center area consists of five authority units, with Reception/Adults SoL being one of them. The units are located in pleasant premises at Första Långgatan 21, close to public transport, shops, and the pulse of the city. We work in an open office environment. Responsibilities in the Reception The Reception is the hub of our operations and often the first contact our clients have with the Department of Support Services. Here, we receive new applications, conduct initial assessments, and ensure that each case is directed appropriately. The Reception investigates cases that require swift handling, such as discharge planning from hospitals or urgent homelessness and eviction prevention work. The work involves providing information and guidance, assessing the conditions for assistance or interventions, and referring cases to the right caseworkers or services. You need broad knowledge of both SoL (Social Services Act) and LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Individuals). You will encounter individuals with mental, neuropsychiatric, physical, and intellectual disabilities and their support networks, requiring a respectful and understanding approach to different life situations. It is important that you thrive in close collaboration with the team and have a flexible attitude, as days can change quickly and require reprioritization. We work in a solution-focused manner with a holistic perspective to meet the needs of individuals. The pace can be fast, but you will always have the support of colleagues and the lead social worker for methodological support and advice. With us, you will receive a stimulating and responsible position with the opportunity to influence and access methodological and process guidance. A good working environment, introduction, and professional development are priorities for us. A lead social worker will be dedicated to the Reception, and you will have a mentor to support you during your introduction. We warmly welcome your application! Qualifications We are looking for a qualified social worker or have other higher education that the employer considers equivalent. You should be familiar with processing according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Individuals (LSS). Since the position involves administrative work, you must be proficient in expressing yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Experience of authority functions with investigations, assessments, and the implementation of decisions is advantageous. Experience with documentation in operational systems such as IBIC/Treserva/SAMSA is also desirable. In your professional role, you show respect and consideration for those you meet. You maintain an open and positive attitude, with the user/client's needs as the focal point for your actions. You take responsibility for your tasks and the shared responsibilities and take your work seriously. At the same time, you are easy to collaborate with. You plan activities and projects well in advance, use time efficiently, and work systematically, organized, and methodically to ensure that work is completed. You also thrive in an environment where no day is the same, and with varying pace, you can balance different demands while remaining calm in challenging situations. Additional Information Selection and interviews may begin during the application period. In this recruitment process, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of submitting a personal letter. As an employee in the Department of Support Services, we offer you: - Secure employment with good working conditions - Full-time with the option for part-time - Introduction upon hiring - Professional development - Wellness contributions, cycling allowances, and other discounts and offers Before an employment offer, we ask you to provide a criminal record extract from the police.
