About this role

Alvesta Municipality, with approximately 20,000 residents — the heart of southern Sweden — integrates local living with global opportunities. This position is built on high-quality municipal services, a successful business community, and a good mix of urban areas and countryside. Add to that a strong infrastructure with railways, airports, and a well-developed road network, and you will understand why Alvesta Municipality is the right choice. – Large enough for ideas to be born and developed – Small enough for everyone to be seen and appreciated, with short decision-making paths In the Alvesta municipal group, we are about 2,000 employees across various professional categories who work every day to make a difference for our residents. Our shared values are: "Together we create a better everyday life for our residents and ourselves as employees. We develop through good meetings and open dialogue." We achieve this through our values based on "Participation, Engagement, and Trust." Our focus is to create the best possible municipal service for those we serve: residents, business owners, and visitors. Alvesta Municipality operates based on a governance model that emphasizes trust-based leadership and management with a focus on Agenda 2030. Would you like to join us on our exciting journey aimed at sustainable community development? The Department for Work and Learning is responsible for, among other things, individual and family care, labor market and employment, as well as adult education and upper secondary school. Our core mission is to offer education and support based on individual needs and circumstances. Through early, promoting, and preventive measures, we conduct targeted work in collaboration with other community actors. The Department for Individual and Family Care consists of four units: IFO Team 1, IFO Team 2, the Housing Support Team, and the Support and Treatment Unit. The department is responsible for processing and implementing services in the areas of children (SoL and LVU) and adult substance abuse (SoL and LVM), financial assistance, social psychiatry (SoL), and domestic violence (SoL). JOB DESCRIPTION As a social worker focusing on children and families, you will investigate the needs for protection and support for children, youth, and their families based on applicable legislation (SoL and LVU) following received applications or reports. The work is conducted together with the children/youth and their parents, their networks, and in collaboration with other professionals who meet the target group. The work is highly varied, where one day may consist of planned visits and documentation, but also unplanned events that require urgent assessments. Daily tasks include meeting with children and their families, documentation, home visits, and sometimes business trips. Your responsibilities include, among others: • Collaboration with internal and external actors. • Investigative work according to SoL and LVU. • Follow-up of approved measures. • Preparing and presenting cases for the individual committee for decision. • Representing the committee in court. Since we in IFO Team 1 and Team 2 work cross-professionally, you may also support colleagues in other professions as needed within the teams. QUALIFICATIONS A degree in social work or another relevant higher education including social law is required for the position. You should have a good understanding of current legislation and documentation requirements, as well as a strong ability to express yourself accurately in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Previous experience in similar work is also preferred. Experience with Signs of Safety and Lifecare is an asset. You possess a strong ability to, with empathy, engagement, and respect, professionally meet people in difficult life situations. Flexibility and the ability to collaborate are important. You see collaboration as an obvious part of your work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We expect you to be a secure person with good personal maturity and to contribute to a positive work environment. If you are the one we are looking for, we can offer you an opportunity to perform qualified social work alongside engaged and competent colleagues in a department with high ambitions regarding quality, organization, and results.
