About this role
Do you want a job where you contribute to strengthening the rights of women and children? Would you also like to make a positive difference for women and children affected by violence? Then you could be our new colleague!
Who are we?
The Social Office in Norrköping Municipality focuses on the needs of individuals, always prioritizing the best interests of children. It should be easy to get help. Our support and treatment interventions are of high quality and based on legally secure assessments. We aim to find solutions close to the individual and contribute to a positive change for them. Together, we want to create safety and good social services for those of us living in Norrköping.
Frideborg is part of the Social Office that works with violence in close relationships. Frideborg currently consists of a sheltered accommodation for women and their children, as well as an open operation with a treatment component where we offer counseling support to individuals who are living or have lived with violence in close relationships.
The position we are recruiting for is located at the sheltered accommodation.
In the unit, we provide support and emergency accommodation for women and children affected by violence. The support is characterized by the acute situation that the woman and children are in. The unit works with a clear child rights perspective, and we have defined goals and methods for the operation, as well as systematic follow-up.
Currently, we have six employees at the accommodation, and we collaborate closely with other parts of Frideborg, the authority exercise of the Social Office, and the Women’s Shelter Association.
Your responsibilities
As an employee, you will primarily be responsible for providing support to the adults placed in the accommodation. The support includes counseling, practical assistance, contacts with authorities, educational activities, and support in the parenting role. You will draw on knowledge of reactions to violence victimization and the needs that may arise from exposure and crisis. You will also provide support to children staying at the accommodation.
Since the work is based in a shelter, your tasks will also include practical duties necessary for the unit to function well.
You will work with authority collaboration and support for permanent housing.
We work with case management based on implementation plans developed together with the residents. At the accommodation, we operate according to clear structures and document continuously.
You will become part of a well-functioning team with strong competencies. The group is deeply committed to creating the best possible conditions for the women and children who stay with us.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker, behavioral scientist, or has another equivalent higher education degree deemed suitable by the employer.
Based on the target group and its needs, we see that you are a female employee. You have previous experience working with violence in close relationships and are well-versed in the target group and its needs.
As a person, you are flexible, able to adapt easily, and enjoy variety in your tasks. You have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, are reliable, and find it easy to collaborate with others. Your empathetic ability is strong, and you work to build trustful relationships without taking over the other person's feelings.
A significant part of the work with us involves strengthening and motivating individuals, believing in their own abilities, and encouraging positive and often life-changing changes.
In addition, you have good documentation skills, possess strong knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written, and hold a B driver's license.
