About this role
Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the development of the municipality, with more residents, more housing, and a greater range of services. We are always on the lookout for new talent - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Are you a qualified social worker with experience in the area of financial assistance? Do you have knowledge of and experience in investigating and processing financial aid for newly arrived individuals?
Your new job
Your main responsibilities within the Immigration and Refugee Unit will be to investigate and process financial assistance for newly arrived individuals who have been granted residence permits during their first four years in Sweden, as well as for other applicants in need of financial support.
A significant focus of the work with financial assistance is the pathway to self-sufficiency, ensuring that applicants receive guidance and the right interventions based on individual circumstances, needs, and personal responsibility. Integration work is an important part of our daily operations and a prerequisite for a successful reception and good establishment in Swedish society. Collaboration with other authorities and organizations is crucial, and therefore we expect you to be able to work well with others while also being capable of working independently and making decisions.
All new employees undergo training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) and Instrument X, which is a mapping and assessment tool fundamental to our work. In Jönköping Municipality, we have also introduced an e-service where our residents in need of financial assistance can apply digitally.
Our unit consists of dedicated colleagues who support each other and collaboratively solve unforeseen challenges. Daily planning may change, as can the nature of tasks. Your workday will be characterized by a solution-focused and professional approach. We value you as an employee, and when you join us, you will receive an introduction and close support in your work from management, senior social workers, and colleagues. Additionally, there are well-established routines and processes, as well as support groups working on various areas to develop and improve our work. Business developers monitor development issues locally, regionally, and nationally.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, and we prefer candidates with experience in processing financial assistance and a solid understanding of the Social Services Act. Previous experience working with newly arrived individuals and knowledge of laws and regulations regarding refugee reception is advantageous.
As a person, you possess good collaboration skills, are flexible, and curious. You are accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to motivate and support individuals in processes leading to self-sufficiency. A prerequisite for thriving with us is that you are unpretentious, can easily adapt to new tasks, and enjoy challenges and changes. You can prioritize and structure your work effectively.
A valid driver's license (B) is required for this position.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability in our recruitment process.
We offer you
As an employee, we offer a 7-hour workday with working hours scheduled during the day from Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00, with occasional evening work possible, individual salary setting, flexible hours, and vacation exchange.
