On April 1, 2024, the Law on Placement of Children in Protected Accommodation (LBSB) came into effect.
For the Social Administration Northeast, this has meant a new initiative and the launch of an entirely new unit, including a Child Protection Team. The purpose of the Child Protection Team is to support the administration with in-depth specialist expertise regarding children living with violence, work to ensure and strengthen the child rights perspective, and to investigate, place, and follow up on children living in protection.
We now need to strengthen our team and are therefore seeking someone interested in issues surrounding domestic violence and children. As a team member in the Child Protection Team, you will, together with the unit manager, team leader, and colleagues, have the opportunity to influence, shape, and reshape the unit we are building together. The unit consists of two work groups with a unit manager and two experienced senior social workers, which contributes to close and accessible management. One work group handles the target group Children in Protected Accommodation, the Child Protection Team, and the other work group is an existing Intake Group.
The Child Protection Team is the only one of its kind and works with the entire Northeast catchment area. Your mission will be to work to strengthen the child rights perspective in the administration and help lead complex cases and issues. The assignment also includes cross-departmental collaboration and collaboration with external partners such as police, housing, healthcare, family law, etc. As an employee of the City of Gothenburg and the Social Administration Northeast, you have access to internal and external supervision, training, and ongoing skills development. A skills development plan has been developed within the administration where you as an employee have good conditions to develop in your assignment and role to develop knowledge and areas of interest.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who wants to develop together with us in our important and meaningful work for children and young people in the Northeast. You have a social work degree and several years of experience as a social worker in public authority. You have good knowledge of child development, understanding of the complexity of domestic violence, and have a particular interest in legal issues and processes. You should also be driven and interested in development work that requires you to stay up-to-date on the subject matter. You monitor the external environment and are change-oriented. You also have knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act (LVU), and the Law on Placement of Children in Protected Accommodation (LBSB). A B driver's license is required.
As a person, you are flexible and able to adapt yourself and your way of working based on changing conditions or new information. You see opportunities in changes and solutions rather than obstacles and enjoy working varied and diverse both in the office and outside.
