About this role
**Authority Operations** serve as the entry point for citizens to receive needs-assessed support within Social Services, and we operate under delegation from the Individual and Family Committee.
Our mission is to inform and engage with citizens and, based on applications or reports, investigate, assess needs, and decide on interventions for individuals in need of social services support and assistance. The mission is aligned with the committee's goal of empowering individuals to lead independent lives.
We have a comprehensive responsibility to establish forecasts and identify new needs for interventions by monitoring the development of needs and inflow in the municipality. This serves as a basis for planning and development, both in the short and long term. The primary legislation relevant to our unit is the Social Services Act, but we closely collaborate with colleagues who make decisions under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). We work closely with other colleagues in different units and services to meet the needs of users and achieve the goal of increased independence.
Do you want to make a difference for the citizens of Umeå Municipality?
Do you have experience in investigations and needs assessments according to the Social Services Act? Are you attracted by the idea of developing work methods with colleagues? Are you particularly passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities or mental health issues?
Within the authority operations at Umeå Municipality, we have focused on coordination and collaboration, both within our area of operations and with other partners. In light of the new Social Services Act, there will be exciting development work across the entire administration and municipality in the coming years. In our unit, you will find colleagues with high competence, a sense of responsibility, and a great deal of care for one another.
We are now looking for a social worker for SoL (Social Services Act) for individuals under 65!
**Your Responsibilities**
As a social worker within SoL, you will:
- Receive applications and reports, and conduct investigations, assessments, and decisions in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Follow up on decisions and interventions and handle any appeals in court.
- Provide advice and support to individuals in vulnerable life situations and motivate change based on their individual needs.
- Collaborate with both internal colleagues and external partners to ensure a holistic and legally secure processing.
