**About the Job** The Intake for Financial Assistance in the Social Administration Southwest is part of the Adult and Financial Assistance department, where close collaboration exists between the units. We have four units within financial assistance with functional divisions: intake, labor market, and two rehabilitation units. The intake unit consists of 11 social workers, two senior social workers, and a unit manager. We are now strengthening the intake unit with an additional position to better meet the needs of our residents. The work in the intake unit involves managing applications for financial assistance in a legally secure manner by thoroughly investigating and assessing entitlement to assistance based on legal precedent, guidelines, and equitable treatment. The job includes being on duty for non-current cases, conducting initial meetings, and providing backup for colleagues. An important part of the work as a social worker in the intake unit is to inform our residents and partners about the right to financial assistance, to promote self-sufficiency as a priority. Social workers in the intake unit serve as the face of social services and may be the first point of contact for individuals within the authority, making a professional and welcoming approach crucial. The work can involve moments of high pressure as well as periods of lower volumes, which you must be able to balance and manage. The job entails collaboration with colleagues within the administration as well as with other authorities, healthcare, and more. The position begins with a thorough introduction. We have regular methodological supervision in groups and individually. There is also an opportunity to participate in external process supervision. Our workplace is centrally located in Southwest at Topasgatan 58, near Frölunda Torg with its amenities. All adult authorities are housed in the same building, which facilitates internal collaboration within the department. **About You** For this position, a degree in social work is required. We are primarily looking for a social worker who has a few years of experience in financial assistance or governmental authority work. As the work includes communication with others both verbally and in writing, you need to have a strong command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. In the intake unit, initial meetings, on-call duties, spontaneous visits, and phone calls are sometimes handled at a fast pace and may come from individuals in crisis or distress, meaning you need to be confident and flexible as well as possess the ability to prioritize. You demonstrate a warm and helpful demeanor towards others, even in stressful situations. You remain calm and composed in difficult scenarios and can make well-informed decisions despite time constraints. You show respect for everyone you encounter at work and listen to others to understand their needs.
