The position is located within the Social Services Department, which is one of eight departments in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Department is responsible for authority exercises, ordering services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. Your Responsibilities
As a social worker in the Adult Department, Investigation and Follow-up, you will work with investigation and follow-up of approved services for adults over 21 years old. You will focus on adults in need of services within Individual and Family Care (IFO), primarily in the area of harmful use and dependency.
In the role of social worker, you will handle cases according to applicable legislation based on the Social Services Act (SoL) and the LVM (Compulsory Care of Substance Abusers Act). LVM is a central part of the work, where you will extensively manage reports, conduct preliminary assessments, and carry out investigations.
You will play an important role in contributing your experience and expertise to the team and the work. Your tasks will also include motivational work, as well as providing information and advice to clients and partners. Other common tasks include collaboration internally within the department and externally with other relevant actors such as service providers and healthcare. Within the unit and the department, there are also groups working on social psychiatry and LSS, which is a significant asset in cases requiring interdisciplinary collaboration.
You will encounter adults in vulnerable situations, where no two days are alike. It is a challenging, rewarding, and important job where you have the opportunity to make a difference. Support in your work includes mentors, case supervision from the workgroup, external supervision, administrative support, assistance from the senior social worker, and support from the unit manager. You will also be part of a team of supportive, development-oriented, and engaged colleagues.
Your Workplace
The unit is part of the Adult Department within the Social Services Department and consists of two groups focused on social psychiatry and individual and family care. The unit includes a unit manager, a senior social worker, and staff working as assistance assessors and social workers. The unit works closely with the LSS unit and the Housing Unit, which are also part of the Adult Department. The Adult Department also includes several service delivery operations that work on behalf of the units within investigation and follow-up, offering services such as support, housing, and treatment within social psychiatry, as well as substance abuse, harmful use, and dependency.
The workplace is located in newly renovated premises in central Linköping at Drottninggatan 45. It is an activity-based workplace, and working hours are scheduled on weekdays from 07:50 to 17:00 with flexible working arrangements. Opportunities for remote work are available by agreement, when deemed appropriate based on the needs of the organization and personal circumstances.
Who You Are
You who are applying need to have a degree in social work or a behavioral science degree that the employer deems suitable. You must also have completed the course in social law. If you have completed courses in social work, administrative law, and psychology, we consider this an asset.
We are looking for someone with several years of experience in social authority work, specifically in investigation and follow-up within adult IFO, harmful use, and dependency. Previous experience in social psychiatry and experience working in the operational system Treserva is considered an asset.
The position requires excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as you will be writing decisions and statements to authorities and managing internal and external contacts with accompanying documentation. Since travel is part of the job, a B driver's license is a requirement. We also welcome applicants who are in the final stages of their driver’s license training. The employment will begin with a probationary period and is contingent upon obtaining the driver's license during this time.
