The Department of Individual and Family Care in Sandviken Municipality has a functionally divided organization. Within the department's area of responsibility, there are child and youth care, addiction care, financial assistance, family law, as well as the processing of alcohol permits and strategic work in the areas of public health and safety and substance abuse prevention. The department has a well-developed outpatient care system for children, youth, and their families, as well as for adults.
The finance unit currently consists of 30 employees. To enable close and active leadership within the unit, in addition to the operations manager, there are also two unit managers and two group leaders. The unit handles financial assistance, housing social contracts, the distribution of own funds, and estate administration. We have a well-functioning collaboration with internal and external actors in the labor market sector.
To balance the high demands placed on the profession, the department offers all employees in decision-making roles one hour of reflection time per working day.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position encompasses two different assignment branches: estate administration and the investigation of the distribution of own funds and support for the unit's other social workers.
As a social worker responsible for estate administration, you will investigate financial assistance for funeral costs, estate declarations, and provisional management of estates. The position involves decision-making within the area, and you will handle cases based on the Social Services Act, the Inheritance Code, and the Burial Act. In your work, you will have contact with relatives of the deceased as well as other authorities and organizations that have active roles in connection with deaths, family investigations, estate management, and funerals. The work is both practical and administrative in nature.
As a social worker for the distribution of own funds, you will investigate the right to assistance and have overall responsibility for the intervention. You will work closely with the unit's financial administrators who are responsible for the execution of the intervention. You will be responsible for executing the intervention for the distribution of own funds, depositing money, and other administrative tasks in the absence of the financial administrator. Your work will also include supporting the unit's other social workers to facilitate their work. The assignment includes collaboration with our partners, both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS
You have a degree in social work or another higher education that we assess to be equivalent. Experience in decision-making roles within financial assistance and estate administration is an advantage.

The work requires you to easily build relationships and to effectively meet people in grief and vulnerable situations. To fulfill your job responsibilities, it is essential that you have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, that you are flexible, well-structured, and able to prioritize tasks that need to be done both in the short and long term.
As the position involves travel, you need to have a valid driver's license (Category B).
