About this role
The position is located within the Social Administration, which is one of eight departments in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority functions, the ordering of services, and operations in the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Would you like to improve the everyday lives, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful day-to-day life. Welcome to join us!
Your Responsibilities
As a social worker in the Family Unit, you will be part of a team responsible for providing structured outpatient services to children and youth aged 0-20 years and their families. You will encounter children, youth, and their relatives in various life situations, which means that your work must be adaptable to meet diverse needs. The services include different types of support, such as practical/pedagogical support, family conversations, and individual support for children, youth, and their parents.
Initially, your task will be to establish a relationship and assess the family's needs, followed by the creation of an implementation plan with clear goals, developed in collaboration with the family. Services will be designed and coordinated with the family to provide them with the best possible support and increase motivation for change. It is also essential to follow up on the implementation plan to highlight progress made and focus on goals that require more attention. Our aim is for families to manage their daily lives independently without our support.
Your tasks will also include actively participating in the development of the operations. In Individual and Family Care, we utilize Feedback Informed Treatment as a tool to enhance our work and ensure quality. Upon joining us, you will receive an introduction and be assigned a mentor during your initial period. You and your colleagues will also receive external supervision.
Your Workplace
The Family Unit is an establishment that works with children, youth, and their families. The assignments are partly based on an assessment by social workers in the authority division of the Social Administration and partly from families themselves through their application for support. We always create a plan for our work in collaboration with the family, and we can provide both long-term and short-term support. We offer family treatment, individual conversations, and practical/pedagogical support in everyday life. Our work takes place both at home and in our premises on Ågatan 31 in central Linköping. The work is mostly conducted during daytime hours, but we can also meet outside office hours if needed. Our tasks also include collaboration with other stakeholders such as Region Östergötland, Linköping schools and kindergartens, and other treatment services. The workgroup consists of 11 staff members and one team leader who supervises daily tasks.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are social workers or have a behavioral science degree, or alternatively, other training that the employer considers equivalent. You should have studied social law and have experience in social work with youth and families. Experience in family treatment, motivational interviewing (MI), and supportive conversations is an asset.
Furthermore, we expect you to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as the position involves many internal and external contacts, making language a vital tool for your work. You should also be experienced in documentation. A driving license (category B) is required as we use a car for work purposes.
The role demands a strong ability to work independently and take responsibility for your own work, as well as collaborate and work in a team. You have the ability to build relationships and provide the support families need based on their requirements. You can adapt when circumstances change and introduce new approaches to your work. You are confident, stable, and possess personal maturity.
