About this role

Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents, with expectations of significant growth in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute journey from Gothenburg and is currently experiencing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from education to housing. The municipality works to ensure excellent service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate. Recently, Dagens Samhälle has named Lerum the winner in the metropolitan municipalities category (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors like digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality! JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We want you as a colleague! We are now recruiting a social worker for the Family Law unit, which is part of our Placement Department. Other colleagues in the department work with follow-up of placed children and recruitment and supervision of foster families/contact families/contact persons. As a social worker in family law, you will become part of a team of four people where we work together and share knowledge and experience. You should also have the ability to work independently and drive processes forward. We work to create a positive work environment and employee participation. We take responsibility and follow guidelines and current research, always with the child's best interests in focus. The child's perspective and attitude should always be evident and considered in all our work. We strive for a workplace with time and space for reflection and recovery. We have a network meeting once per semester with our family law colleagues in neighboring municipalities for experience and knowledge exchange. You will work with all aspects of family law, which includes assignments from the court such as information and investigations regarding custody, residence, and visitation according to the Parental Code, drafting agreements, and investigating paternity. Home visits and child conversations are included, as well as collaboration in cases, both internally and externally. We have implemented and work with SES (cooperation after separation/divorce) and plan to develop this to include group activities next year. A significant part of the assignment involves leading cooperation conversations aimed at getting guardians to reach a mutual solution and avoid court proceedings. In these conversations, we often meet couples with high conflict levels, which requires you as a conversation leader to be calm, diplomatic, and objective. We aim to introduce "Whole Child" in the spring to offer more alternatives to guardians in conflict. QUALIFICATIONS You are a social worker with experience working in family law and talking with children. You have a good ability to document and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have good knowledge of how current legislation should be applied. We use the documentation system Treserva. As a family law social worker, you need to be able to plan your work and delimit information gathering. You have an objective and equal approach and can structure and analyze material. In the role of conversation leader in cooperation conversations, a well-anchored child rights perspective is important, with experience in child conversations and leading both adults and children in groups. We particularly welcome experience in conflict management. Characteristics and Abilities We are seeking someone who can contribute to equal service and good treatment of our residents in Lerum and who can help create an inclusive workplace environment. A driver's license is required. Personally, we envision someone responsible, reflective, and flexible. You have life experience and are confident. You are unpretentious and creative, able to work in an environment with occasional high tempo. You are service-oriented, naturally focused on the child's perspective, and loyal to the organization's goals. You are meticulous, stress-resistant, and willing to try new things. You are empathetic and impartial in your work.
