We are currently engaged in a development project where we are implementing the new Social Services Act with a focus on preventive work.
The goal is to improve people's path to independence and self-sufficiency while also addressing the future needs of social services.
We work with the MIX method (Motivational Interviewing and Instrument X), and MI is an important approach in our work. In addition to our employees receiving basic training, we also hold method meetings where social workers, together with a supervisor, share experiences to develop their professional skills in these areas. We utilize the standardized assessment and evaluation tool, Instrument X. We collaborate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
We are now seeking two full-time social workers.
Your assignment
Your task is to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency. To succeed in this, it is important that you are skilled at collaborating internally with colleagues within the municipality as well as externally with the employment agency, social insurance agency, psychiatric care, primary care, and others.
In your work, you will meet individuals applying for financial assistance, investigate their applications, make decisions, implement decisions, and offer advice and support services. It is essential that you have the ability to build relationships and establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. The role of a social worker requires you to be adept at engaging with individuals in crisis and to hold a humanistic perspective with faith in people.
Currently, about 20 employees work at the reception, including management with a group leader and a unit manager. Within the department, there are various focus areas such as emergency handling, investigative work, and eviction prevention.
What we are looking for in you
To fit the role of Social Worker with us, we would like:
- You have a degree in social work (socionomexamen)
- You have a good understanding of the social insurance system
- You possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Experience in social work with financial assistance is an advantage
- Experience with MI is an advantage

- You have excellent collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive manner while enjoying working with other professionals, always keeping the individual in focus.
- You value diversity and understand that different backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations can affect oneself and others in various ways.
