Children and Family We are now seeking three social workers for the Children and Family – Investigation unit. The Children and Family Unit on Gotland is responsible for official child and youth services for ages 0-20 and consists of two units with approximately 40 employees: Children and Family – Investigation, with four investigative teams. Children and Family 2, with reception team, placement secretaries, assistant group, and additional resources. We are now seeking social workers for our investigative teams. We have recently developed our operations and now work in smaller teams with close management supervision, which provides good opportunities for support, guidance, and collaboration in daily work. Here, you will help investigate children and families' needs according to the Social Services Act and follow up on interventions implemented after investigation. We offer external supervision, 38.75-hour work week, flexible hours, wellness hour, and wellness allowance. Option for vacation exchange is also available. We participate in the Professional Journey, which means we can offer both introduction and further training in working with official child, youth, and family services. Your Responsibilities As a social worker, your primary task is to investigate children's support or protection needs. You are also responsible for following up on interventions approved for children and families. The most common interventions are performed by our family support unit in the form of family therapy. This may also include various placements or contact person interventions. The work involves having conversations with children, youth, their parents, and other important people in the child's life, collaborating with our open care services and other authorities. Responsibilities also include documentation and making or proposing decisions based on delegation. You typically work in pairs on investigative cases. Our entire unit and the department (Individual and Family Care) we belong to actively work using the Signs of Safety approach. All staff in individual and family care are trained in Signs of Safety. This means we work to ensure children, families, and networks are involved in problem-solving. We believe in a person's own ability and potential to take control of their future life. Through Signs of Safety's approach and various tools, we can create better conditions for sustainable solutions for those we encounter. You are a trained social worker, and experience in official child and family services is meritorious. Personal characteristics are crucial for this position. You easily understand and empathize with others' feelings and behaviors. At the same time, you have a good ability to make professional assessments and decisions within given frameworks. You understand the importance of working in an official role, guided by legislation and the child's best interests. Furthermore, it is important that you are confident and strong, stress-resistant, and able to act calmly, composed, and independently in acute situations.
