JOB DESCRIPTION
As a social worker within Children and Youth services in Malung-Sälen Municipality, you will work with authority in accordance with the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act. Your mission is to investigate, assess, make decisions, and follow up on interventions for children and young people aged 0-18 years in a legally secure manner.
The work involves:
• Handling investigations and interventions for children and young people according to SoL and LVU.
• Assessing protection needs and support measures for children, young people, and their families.
• Preventive work and collaboration with open care services, schools, healthcare, and other stakeholders.
• Decision-making and follow-up of approved interventions and placed children.
• Collaboration with colleagues and coordinators to ensure legally secure and efficient handling.
• Working with structured interventions, such as placements and support for foster homes.
• The role also includes close collaboration with intake social workers, family law social workers, and foster care social workers, where cooperation within and between groups is a natural part of daily work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. You have a good understanding of current social legislation, are motivated to engage with the new Social Services Act, and preferably have experience working in social services, with an advantage for prior experience in financial assistance (to be changed to children and youth). You are confident in your profession, articulate in both speech and writing, and enjoy taking initiative. You are attentive, collaborative, and treat people with respect—both colleagues and those you encounter in your work.
