About this role
In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that are full of life. Here, we have ambitions, share our stories, and come as we are. This allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to join us on this journey!
The mission of the Social Administration is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has equal opportunities in life. We want everyone to be active and engaged in society. With a focus on respecting the individual's right to make decisions about their own life, we are responsible for three key areas: care and support, assistance for individuals with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. Our goal is for everyone to receive the support and care they need.
Workplace
The Individual and Family Services consist of five units: the Reception and Investigation Unit, the Advice and Support Unit, the Foster Care and Family Law Unit, the Dependency and Adult Unit, and the Preventive Unit, with a total of around 100 employees.
In the Reception and Investigation Unit, you will be part of an experienced and stable team of 22 investigative social workers, four social workers with reception duties, two senior social workers, and one unit manager.
You will receive a structured introduction and ongoing professional development. External and internal supervision is a given, as is present leadership. Workplace environment and development work are prioritized areas.
The municipality offers wellness benefits and the opportunity to exchange vacation pay for extra days off. The workplace has flexible working hours. Communication options are good, as the workplace is about a 10-minute walk from the bus and train station.
Job Responsibilities
The role of the investigative social worker involves investigating, deciding, and following up on interventions concerning children, young people, and their families in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LBSB), and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). The work includes collaborating with the family, its network, and other professionals around the child.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a degree in social work; you should have at least three years of experience in social work. Experience in exercising authority within social services or similar activities is an advantage.
The role of the investigative social worker is complex. You will work with both urgent issues and longer interventions, which requires flexibility and the ability to organize and prioritize. You need to be creative, capable of making assessments and acting in complex situations, and have a professional empathetic approach. Our work is largely based on collaboration, and you must see it as essential to work together with the children's network. It is important to us that you are confident and positive and can create sustainable relationships. The work requires pedagogical skills as well as strong communication abilities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.
Before employment is offered, you will need to present your degree certificate from your social work education, identification (passport or national ID card), and a criminal record extract.
We will be using ongoing selection and interviews, so please do not hesitate to submit your application.
