About this role
We need to hire more of Sweden's best social workers. At the Child and Youth unit, you will have a meaningful and challenging job. We perform tasks that make a difference for our children and youth – with us, it’s for real. The Authority Placement is brave and capable of meeting vulnerable children. We always base our work on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, focusing on the child's needs and participation, and we handle child welfare cases with high quality and efficiency.
Our unit consists of 24 social workers, 1 administrator, 3 team leaders, and a unit manager. Since September 1, 2024, we have restructured the Child and Youth operations to support the Signs of Safety approach. As an employee, you are our most important resource, which is why we constantly work on developing methods and tools so that we can together achieve our challenging goals and fulfill our mission. Here, there are opportunities to influence the development and design of our working methods.
As three of our employees are moving on to new adventures, we are now looking for three new social workers.
**Your Responsibilities**
Your main tasks will involve conducting follow-ups on interventions for placed children, supporting children and their biological parents and networks, including unaccompanied minors, who require care in network homes, emergency homes, and foster homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). The social worker and the foster care worker will work together in a team around the placed child. Since we are a new unit, we will focus in 2025 on:
- **Work Environment** - It is important that we have a good working situation and enjoy our jobs.
- **Clarifying Roles and Expectations** - We want to prevent ambiguities and confusion by ensuring that everyone in the unit knows what is expected of themselves and what they can expect from managers and colleagues.
- **Ensuring Relationships** - Every placed child should have a relationship with their social worker; we will meet the children frequently and develop our skills in discussing difficult topics and violence with them.
As your manager, I want you to feel:
- That your thoughts and ideas are received positively.
- That you are important in the workplace.
- That I have time for you.
- That you receive the support you need.
**Who Are You?**
In the Authority Placement unit, you represent the Social Services Child and Youth department to clients, citizens, and partners. Therefore, you possess a broad knowledge of the social services' authority and interventions and can make independent assessments in cases.
**Personal Qualities:**
- We are looking for someone with a clear child perspective.
- We see that you are professional in your role and show respect for your mission, working according to our values.
- You are responsible, meaning you take charge of a work climate that develops the organization.
