About the Position We are now looking for a crafts teacher at Stora Mellösa School. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in both textile crafts and wood and metal crafts for grades 3-6. Your teaching will be based on curriculum requirements for planning, implementation, follow-up, and development. In addition to regular teaching and potential mentorship, you are expected to focus on and contribute to school development through collegial learning, together with other staff. You have a student focus and believe in each student's will and ability to develop, and you will vary your teaching according to students' needs. The willingness to work together and to see the entire school as a whole are important approaches that characterize our operations. Examples of Work Tasks: • Plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in textile crafts and wood and metal crafts • Use methods and approaches that lead to student development and the best possible goal achievement • Potentially exercise mentorship/perform class teacher duties • Purchasing responsibility for crafts subjects • Support students' social development • Create a good learning environment • Document in existing operational systems About the Workplace Stora Mellösa School is a preschool-6th grade school with approximately 200 students. The school is beautifully located a few miles east of Örebro. We are organized into four teams: after-school care, preschool-3rd grade, 4-6th grade, and special needs team. Our operations are permeated by our profile of health and learning in interaction and our core values. We collectively strive for a broad health perspective that emphasizes the importance of both mental and physical health. We are also a training school where we collaborate with the teacher education program at Örebro University and regularly receive students during their teaching practice. Qualifications We see it as crucial that you are calm, secure, and stable in your role as a teacher with us. As a teacher, it is important to have good collaboration skills where you listen and communicate and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. You should also have knowledge of children's development and learning and the ability to adapt instruction based on group and individual student needs and conditions. You have a flexible approach and see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you have good digital competence to document in our operational systems and good Swedish language skills in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements: • Teaching certification with qualification to teach textile crafts and wood and metal crafts for grades 3-6, or qualifying degree that entitles you to certification • B driver's license Meritorious: • Experience working as a teacher in textile crafts and wood and metal crafts • Experience teaching in primary school • Training in Guiding Interaction (ICDP) • Experience with Writing to Learn (STL) • Experience leading work teams Scope and Commencement Employment Type: Permanent position Employment Degree: 80% Start Date: January 7, 2026, or by agreement Number of Positions: 1 Application Deadline: November 18.
