About us Forensic Psychiatry is a unique division within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, located in Gunnilse, approximately 20 minutes by public transport from central Gothenburg. The mission of Forensic Psychiatry is to provide individually tailored psychiatric care and rehabilitation for patients who have been sentenced to care. The division operates both outpatient and inpatient facilities with heightened security classifications and also cares for individuals detained under other legislation who require acute psychiatric specialist care. Forensic Psychiatry has a societal protection responsibility, aiming for patients to successfully reintegrate into society without recidivism due to mental illness. Thus, Forensic Psychiatry has a dual mission: both societal protection and care. The division has six inpatient units, in addition to an activity center, an outpatient clinic, and other units with critical functions. Our units work closely with the research unit CELAM (Center for Ethics, Law, and Mental Health). What do we offer you? Forensic Psychiatry conducts and develops specialist care with a focus on interdisciplinary treatment and rehabilitation. Job Responsibilities As a caregiver, you will work with patient care and societal protection. You will be part of a team comprising various professional categories, where you, as a caregiver, hold an important role. Alongside your colleagues, you will work on a long-term care plan, where you will play a motivating, supportive, and active role in the patient’s rehabilitation. Documentation in patient journals is also an essential part of the work. Your responsibilities include maintaining a good work environment within the care unit together with your colleagues. Your approach and contributions are crucial for the work environment to be characterized by calmness, well-being, care, and security. You are also expected to participate in ongoing physical self-protection training alongside your colleagues. This role includes medication management under delegation, sample collection, and monitoring of vital parameters. About you We are looking for a qualified nursing assistant. Experience in forensic psychiatry and/or psychiatry is an advantage. You are a calm and secure individual with a genuine interest in people in vulnerable situations. You have the ability to listen, set boundaries, and motivate. You demonstrate structure in your work and are accountable. We value flexibility and teamwork, especially as we collaborate closely with our emergency units, mobile teams, and outpatient clinic. Personal suitability is of great importance.
