Your new job As a school social worker in Jönköping Municipality, you will work proactively and preventively to enhance students' social and emotional development. You will be an important partner for the school's health team, collaborating with students, guardians, and school staff, always with the student's best interests in mind. Your work primarily involves supporting students' social development and relationship-building to create security in our schools. You will become a vital link between the student, family, and school, and sometimes also between the school and external organizations such as social services, field teams, police, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and leisure activities. We are implementing a coordinated initiative, and we are now looking for seven school social workers who want to help make a difference in our schools. You will be employed by the education administration and placed at one of Jönköping Municipality’s schools for grades 7–9, according to the needs of the organization and your qualifications. During the recruitment process, you will also have the opportunity to indicate two schools where you would prefer to work, which we will take into account as much as possible. Your immediate supervisor will be the school principal, and you will be a natural part of the school’s staff and health work. You are accustomed to collaborating with various stakeholders within the school, social services, and other parts of society, and have a good ability to build trusting relationships. Your approach is solution-oriented; you communicate clearly and treat people with warmth and respect. Experience from residential care, the National Board of Institutional Care (SiS), or work in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas is an advantage. Additionally, if you have experience in handling difficult conversations and collaborating across organizational boundaries, that is a significant asset in this role. As a person, you are confident, empathetic, and adept at reading situations and meeting people where they are. You possess a holistic perspective, enjoy collaborating, and share our conviction about every child's right to safety, learning, and a hopeful future.
