We are seeking a temporary school social worker who wants to develop and strengthen our preventive school social collaboration efforts with us!
The Role of School Social Worker
School social workers belong to the Prevention Unit 1.
The unit primarily serves children and youth aged 0-17 and their parents living in the Hässelby-Vällingby district. We offer preventive measures and easily accessible early support.
As a school social worker in Hässelby-Vällingby’s preventive context, you will work with students and parents in collaboration between schools and social services, in what we call the Attendance Program. Parent advisors within the unit also participate in this work. The aim is to increase students' attendance in school and, in the long term, to ensure that students achieve eligibility for upper secondary school. Furthermore, the work aims to develop successful collaboration methods and structures for effective preventive work in schools and the district administration.
Your responsibilities as a school social worker include working together with school staff to:
- Conduct individual support/motivational conversations with students and parents based on our Attendance Program.
- Identify underlying causes of problematic school situations.
- Design tailored support for students and parents.
- Initiate collaboration between various authorities and interventions concerning young people.
- Actively develop role and work methods, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues and partners.

- As a school social worker in Hässelby-Vällingby, you will engage in meaningful preventive work to strengthen the upbringing conditions for children and youth. Collaborating with schools, families, and other stakeholders to help young people increase their school attendance and improve their educational experience is both rewarding and developmental.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work (Socionomexamen)
- Experience working with children and youth within social services and/or schools.
We consider it advantageous if you have:
- Experience in school social collaboration, motivational and family support work, and collaboration between schools and social services.
- Good knowledge of the various collaborating actors' missions.
As a person, you are driven, with a strong ability to work independently and flexibly. You possess excellent collaboration skills and the ability to understand how different professions have different missions and can work together.
Furthermore, you are attentive and confident; a good approach is important to you in your professional role. Through your engagement and attentiveness, you build trust and foster good relationships with various partners.
Our Area - First Line Individual and Family
The Department of Individual and Family in Hässelby-Vällingby district administration comprises approximately 290 employees and consists of four different areas: Promotion, First Line, Children and Youth, and Adults. The First Line area consists of five different units that together offer preventive and early interventions for children, youth, and adults, as well as the social services reception for children, youth, adults, and family law.
