About the Operation:
IFO Open Care for Children and Families is run by the municipality itself and is part of the Social Administration's service division. Open care includes school social workers and school social teams, along with family treatment, youth treatment, and family-near support. The unit also offers other preventive work for individual families and group activities. The position we are now seeking will focus on work as a school social worker, but may potentially shift more towards family treatment in the future.
School Social Workers are part of Vallentuna's central attendance team, a collaboration between the Children and Youth Administration and the Social Administration. The primary purpose is to increase school attendance among students in Vallentuna Municipality. The team works cross-professionally at both structural and operational levels, providing an opportunity for schools and social services to work together to strengthen students' conditions for achieving educational goals, increase school attendance, and provide support to break unfavorable developments. School social workers' mission is to work with early intervention for school absence risk.
Job Responsibilities:
As a School Social Worker, you will collaborate with the municipality's primary schools and work with various resources in both schools and social services to implement promoting, preventive, and corrective measures aimed at strengthening student attendance, goal achievement, and well-being. Work can occur at organizational, group, and individual levels, such as providing information or training to parent groups, staff competence development, and individual support for students and guardians.
In the role of School Social Worker, we seek someone who easily creates relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external actors. You should be comfortable conducting various types of conversations with students and guardians and coaching school staff and guardians. You have personal drive, structuring your work clearly and effectively to achieve set goals. You can work systematically in daily operational tasks and documentation. You are a team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
• Social Work Degree
• Good knowledge of social services' work with children, youth, and families
• Knowledge of school operations
• Experience working with children and youth
• B Driver's License
• Experience with documentation and journaling
• Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
• Preferably trained in parent support and evidence-based treatment methods
• Preferably experience in municipal operations
