School Nurse

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES One of our current school nurses is retiring on 30/4-26, and we are therefore seeking a new colleague for our team. The plan is to join our team on August 10, 2026. As a school nurse in Säter Municipality, you are employed by the central Student Health Services and work with one or more schools in the municipality. You work according to applicable laws and governing documents. The current assignment is split between our high school, Klockarskolan, Dahlander Knowledge Center, IM programs, and our adapted primary school and its two units. The total number of students in these four units is approximately 400. In the municipality, there are three full-time school nurses who share approximately 1,300 students. Each school also has a school counselor and special education teacher who work in a team together with the school nurse and the school's overall student health team and school staff. Most of the work is done at the schools, where you are part of the local student health team led by the school principal. Work at the school includes health consultations, health examinations, vaccinations, and an open reception with basic medical care for students. You are expected to analyze your work at the unit, class, and individual levels and share this with the student health team and other school staff to develop preventive and health-promoting work at the school. The assignment also includes a more comprehensive responsibility to analyze your work together with your school nurse colleagues and the head of central Student Health Services to contribute thoughts on health-promoting and preventive interventions at the organizational level. QUALIFICATIONS Registered Specialist Nurse We are looking for a registered specialist nurse with a specialization in district nursing, pediatric nursing, or school nursing. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a school nurse. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of and can demonstrate completion of further training in a conversation tool such as MI (Motivational Interviewing). It is meritorious if you have documented knowledge and good technical expertise in administrative work in a student health journal system. You have the ability to make quick and clear decisions, both independently and together with others. You also have good initiative. You have the ability to work with other people: to listen, show empathy and respect. You are unpretentious and acknowledge and reward others' contributions. You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You are good at setting goals, organizing resources, following up, and completing activities.
