Your responsibilities
As a school nurse, you will work preventively and health-promoting based on Linköping Municipality's basic program for student health - The Medical Intervention, which includes health visits, open consultations, and the administration of vaccinations.
In your role as a school nurse, you will collaborate with the school's student health team to support students in achieving their educational goals. You will also work with other staff, guardians, and external organizations and authorities. Additionally, you will receive monthly supervision on cases from a psychologist. This is to create a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. You will document in the journal system Prorenata.
As a newly hired school nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in an introductory program. You will receive ongoing professional development and method training through the central medical intervention of student health. You will also be part of a network with other school nurses in the area, providing excellent opportunities to exchange experiences and develop the profession. Your workplace
The school health service in Linköping Municipality is part of Student Health - The Medical Intervention. Within the compulsory school system, around 40 school nurses work with approximately 16,000 students across two different school areas. In high school, 8 school nurses serve about 5,000 students across five different high school units. Organizationally, as a school nurse, you belong to the primary school or high school unit where you have the most working hours. The responsible manager is the principal of that school.
We are currently seeking a school nurse to be placed at Vallastadens School. The school is a grades F-6 institution with around 400 students and includes both regular and adapted primary education. The position is a permanent employment with a workload of 75-100%. The role will be divided between adapted primary education and regular primary education, meaning you will be part of two student health teams.
Who you are
We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse. We prefer that you have prior experience working as a school nurse or have other experience in health-promoting work with children and adolescents. You have knowledge of preventive and health-promoting student health work. It is a requirement that you have good skills in spoken and written Swedish, as you will be writing journals and collaborating with various professionals.
As a school nurse with us, you will have an independent role that requires you to plan and organize your work effectively. You maintain a professional demeanor, excel at meeting children and adolescents where they are, and are curious about people from diverse cultural backgrounds. You will collaborate with other staff, the student health team, school doctors, etc., which requires you to thrive in a role where unpretentious cooperation is central.
