About the position
As a school nurse at Mellringeskolan, you will work with health promotion and prevention, and you will be responsible for assessing students' needs for additional health interventions, which includes health visits, open clinics, and administering vaccinations. In your role as a school nurse, you will collaborate with the school's student health team to support students in achieving their educational goals. You will contribute medical and public health expertise to the student health work within the team, which consists of a counselor, special educator, special teacher, school psychologist, and school management. The student health team works together with the school's other staff to ensure a good psychosocial environment for students and to support their development towards educational goals. In Örebro municipality, you will be part of a network of school nurses where you will receive collegial support and ongoing professional development.
Examples of responsibilities:
• Responsible for documentation in Prorenata according to health and medical care laws and patient laws
• Responsible for offering and administering vaccinations according to the national vaccination program and being able to take action in case of vaccination side effects
• Familiar with and adhere to the applicable laws, policies, and procedures of the organization
• Initiate and participate in development and quality work within the area of responsibility
About the workplace
Mellringeskolan is a K-9 school located in the western part of Örebro with approximately 600 students. The school also has a resource school for grades 7-9 with 24 students. The students primarily come from the western neighborhoods of Örebro. The staff is organized into working teams around common classes. These teams are central to both goal fulfillment and student health initiatives. In addition to school management and administration, there is a student health group to support the teaching teams.

Qualifications
As a school nurse with us, you are expected to work independently, which requires you to be confident and engaged in your role. You are communicative and able to listen and adapt your communication style based on your audience. Furthermore, you easily establish contact and inspire trust. You possess good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner. Additionally, you are adept at structuring, prioritizing, and taking overall responsibility for your work. It is important that you can adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You must also have a good command of the Swedish language to communicate with students, guardians, and other staff, as well as to document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also necessary.
Requirements:
• Licensed nurse with specialist training as a school nurse, district nurse, or pediatric nurse
Meritorious:
• Experience working as a school nurse
• Experience working in a student health team
• Competence in neuropsychiatric disorders (NPF)
• Experience working with guiding interactions (ICDP or similar)
