DUTIES
You will be part of our central child and student healthcare team, providing the medical services together with three school nurse colleagues and our school physician. Your workplace will be located at Edenryd School and Näsum School, two of the municipality's primary schools (grades F-6). Edenryd School has approximately 120 students and Näsum School around 130.
Your responsibility involves the medical aspects of student healthcare, primarily focusing on preventive and health-promoting work. Your assignment includes conducting base program health consultations, health checks, and vaccinations. You will make group-level interventions together with other student healthcare personnel and school staff.
Example tasks include:
• Health visits and vaccinations
• Open reception for students
• School physician consultations
• Active participation in the school's student healthcare team
• Collaboration with students/guardians, teachers, and other school personnel
• Collaboration with central child and student healthcare team
• Collaboration with external actors/authorities
• Individual support conversations
• Group discussions with various preventive themes
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a licensed nurse with a specialist education as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse. You should have knowledge of current governing documents and applicable legislation in the field, and previous experience as a school nurse is meritorious. Experience with documentation in digital patient journals (e.g., PMO) is desirable.
You are engaged, have excellent communication skills, and an ability to build trustful relationships with children/students, staff, and guardians. You see the bigger picture and thrive in an environment that demands responsibility, flexibility, proactivity, and a high service level.
Since the position involves working at two different schools with movement between them, a B driver's license is required.
While you can work independently, you recognize the advantages of interprofessional work and can work efficiently, professionally, and without ego in various team configurations. We appreciate initiative and collaboration with other student healthcare personnel and school staff in preventive and promotional student healthcare work targeted at classes and groups. It is important that you are confident in your professional role and understand the significance of close collaboration and good dialogue with guardians, students, and staff.
