The Adapted Compulsory School is growing, and the City of Borås is now starting a fourth unit. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and young people in both compulsory and adapted compulsory schools. As a school nurse in the City of Borås, you are an important part of a cross-professional student health team consisting of principal, school counselor, school psychologist, special education teacher, and school nurse. You are centrally employed with placement at 2-3 school units led by a principal. In addition to your student health team, you will work closely with the school's other professionals. You'll meet your school nurse colleagues regularly in various forums, such as workplace meetings, professional networks, small development groups, supervision forums, or other close collaborations. As support in your work, you have a division manager, school physician, a medically responsible manager, and our experienced school nurses who are always just a call away. We are a lovely group where everyone supports each other. Job Responsibilities With the pedagogical mission in focus, you will work to promote and support student learning, development, and health, and prevent ill-health so that students reach educational goals. The work involves following student health, well-being, and development, including offering all students health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations according to the national vaccination program for children. Tasks are varied, and you will plan and structure your work independently throughout the school year. As a school nurse, you are a support in student health work by contributing expertise in medicine and care. Together with students, guardians, and school staff, you will work to provide students with knowledge about healthy lifestyles and other factors contributing to health and well-being. The mission is primarily health-promoting and preventive, but remedial and supportive interventions are also an important part. The student health team also plays a significant role in the school's systematic quality work. You have good conditions for regular skills development through digital training, courses, professional networks, collegial learning, supervision, and joint competence development days with other student health professionals. Qualifications - Registered nurse with completed specialist nursing education for school nurses, specialist nursing education focused on child and youth healthcare, or district nurse specialization - Experience working with children and youth in areas such as student health, habilitation, pediatric care, child healthcare, or primary care is meritorious - Warm and pleasant approach with ease in collaborating and creating good relationships with students of different ages, guardians, and colleagues - Professional and inclusive approach with sound values aligned with the City of Borås principles - Skilled in cross-professional collaboration and comfortable working independently - Good self-awareness and ability to seek help and support when needed - Strong structural ability to plan and prioritize work - Good knowledge of laws and frameworks with ability to be solution-oriented and flexible - Evidence-based work approach with willingness to develop student health medical interventions - Extensive experience with digital documentation systems - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Driving license is required - Police record extract is required for working in compulsory/adapted compulsory school Application Submit your application with attached documents through the application function accessible via "Apply for the job" below.
