Workplace As a school nurse in Ludvika Municipality, you are employed by the central student health services but perform your tasks located at one or more school units in close collaboration with the school's student health team and principal. You regularly meet with your school nurse colleagues for quality development and work support, and each week all school nurses conclude together, which many find comforting. Work Tasks As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team and collaborate with educational staff, counselors, school psychologists, school physicians, and principals to create the best possible conditions for student health, development, and learning based on your nursing expertise. You work preventively and promotively according to the governing documents in healthcare and education laws, as well as student health guidelines at individual, group, and organizational levels with good opportunities to influence and develop the work's content. Your primary tasks include health conversations, health visits, issues related to students' work environment, school values, life-related health and illness, basic medical interventions, and vaccinations according to the general vaccination program for children. You will also have consultations together with the school physician. Work tasks also include occasionally conducting group-oriented interventions, such as discussing health-related topics with school classes. The assignment also involves collaborating with other student health services to further develop student health work in Ludvika Municipality. Qualifications You are a licensed nurse with specialized education in healthcare for children and youth, or a specialized school nurse or district nurse. A B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required since your position may be located at multiple school units. Good computer skills are required, as Student Health maintains student journals via PMO and uses computers as a natural work tool. Personal Characteristics The most important aspect is that you enjoy working with children and youth and can create relationships with students, making them feel safe with you. You need to understand the diversity of our students and be able and willing to meet them according to their situation and personality. You have interest, willingness, and ability to help and guide others, with a good ability to interact with people as your work will involve many contacts with students, guardians, staff, child and adolescent psychiatry, habilitation, and social services. You also have the ability to independently manage your planning and responsibilities, but since we also appreciate collaboration, you need to work with other professionals - essentially being a team player with commitment and drive.
