**Workplace Description**
Sjöängsskolan, beautifully situated near Örby Castle in Älvsjö, is a three-parallel F-9 school with approximately 800 students.
We have a well-developed and efficient student health team. The development and learning of the student are at the center of our work, and we strive for continuous improvement to ensure that every student develops optimally. We believe in long-term systematic quality work and engage in health-promoting and preventive efforts within our student health initiatives.
We recognize the school psychologist's expertise as vital in our student health work.
**Job Description**
As a school psychologist, you will be an important part of the school's student health team alongside the principal and other professionals. The primary mission of the student health team is to work in a health-promoting and preventive manner to create a school environment conducive to the students' learning, development, and well-being. As a school psychologist and one of the professions within student health, you are expected to contribute psychological expertise to support educational work and the overall planning of student health initiatives.
At the principal's request, you will conduct psychological investigations, diagnostics, and assessments of students, groups, and the organization. You will provide knowledge about mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, offer supportive counseling to students, and consult with guardians and educators. You will also contribute psychological insights regarding protective and risk factors for students’ health, learning, and development, for example through training on mental health and illness. In addition to direct contact with students, you will also be responsible for mentoring and providing consultation to school staff on issues where psychological expertise is necessary.
You will assist with conflict resolution and the school's crisis and emergency management, providing guidance and support to the school leadership on matters concerning organization, groups, resources, and the handling of individual student cases.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a licensed psychologist with knowledge and experience working with children.
To succeed in the role of school psychologist, you need to possess strong analytical skills, take independent initiatives, and apply an evidence-based and systematic approach to your work. You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues, students, and guardians. You are relationship-building and trustworthy.
You will contribute structure, problem analysis, and a holistic view to the salutogenic student health efforts and possess good knowledge of the school’s organization and governing documents. You have a sound understanding of group processes and can handle crises and conflicts. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Previous experience working as a school psychologist is advantageous.

Stockholm City has over 140 primary schools and 30 secondary schools with various specializations. As a psychologist with us, you will be one of more than 40 knowledgeable psychologists working within Stockholm City schools.
Your employment will be with Sjöängsskolan, while the operations manager and medical leadership responsibility for the part of your work that falls under the Health and Medical Care Act, along with professional support for you as a psychologist, are organized centrally. This includes processes and routines that support the psychologist's work, as well as joint professional development, supervision, and professional knowledge exchange.
