JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a school counselor for a part-time one-year temporary position at Westerlundska High School, with the possibility of extension.
Enköping applies a structured student health approach where you will be part of a student health team. The team includes school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, and career counselors. The team is led by the school's management. Your tasks include conducting counseling sessions with students. Interpreter-assisted conversations may occur. You will work preventively and promotionally in collaboration with other staff. Occasionally, you will work with entire classes on value-based issues. As a school counselor, you will have significant opportunities to influence your work method and develop methods and interventions. You will belong to the student health team and have regular access to group supervision.
In collaboration with school management and other school personnel, student health serves as an important support resource to create good conditions for youth health, learning, and development. All students, regardless of personal circumstances, should be given the opportunity to reach their goals and develop to their full potential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have a degree in social work or behavioral sciences. Previous work with youth is considered meritorious. The position requires proficiency in using a computer as a work tool.
We seek someone who can create good relationships with students and staff. You listen, communicate, and handle conflicts constructively.
You are confident, stable, and self-aware. You see good relationships as essential, distinguish between personal and professional interactions, and adapt your approach to each situation.
You can empathize with others' perspectives, identify needs for health-promoting interventions, work independently and in groups, and act according to governing documents, routines, and policies. We strive for gender balance and especially welcome male applicants.
