About this role

Pilträdsskolan is a free school with approximately 300 students that emphasizes knowledge, safety, and the unique value of each student. The school was established in 1994 and conducts teaching for grades F-9 as well as after-school activities. We have between 12-24 students in each class. Adjacent to the school is Pilträdets Preschool for children aged 1-5 years. The main organization is Stiftelsen Källan in Västerås, and the school is located in Vallby. We are now seeking a driven, flexible, and competent employee. You should possess a higher education degree or training as a social pedagogue (social worker, behavioral scientist, special educator), with experience working in elementary education. You should also have a good understanding of the school’s governing documents. The position includes, among other responsibilities: - Working with students in groups/classes for preventive and health-promoting purposes. - Conducting support and motivational conversations with individual students. - Supporting students with special needs due to physical, mental, and social difficulties. - Being available for advice and consultation for teachers. - Participating in the establishment of action plans and intervention programs. - Collaborating with social services, youth clinics, police, family centers, youth clubs, etc. - Leading the safety team and work against bullying. - Providing advisory support on concerns regarding child welfare reports. - Conducting absence investigations and reporting to the school attendance monitoring authority. - Participating in and developing recess activities based on the needs of students with special requirements. - Performing observations of individual students or groups/classes. - Participating in discussions with guardians alongside other professionals and independently. - Being flexible when needs arise, such as covering a lesson if a teacher is ill or assisting in after-school care on certain days during breaks.
