In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where life is good. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that are vibrant with life. Here, we want things, tell stories about them, and come just as we are. This allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious manner.
Welcome to take your place on the journey!

TRELLEBORG – A SCHOOL COMMUNITY TO COUNT ON
Between the plain and the sea, we build knowledge and create dreams.
Workplace
The Principal's area of Urban East consists of Pilevallskolan F-9, a mother tongue unit, school introduction, and two preschools. The area is led by a principal together with four assistant principals and an administrative manager from a 1-16 year perspective. The Urban East principal's area is characterized by cultural diversity, which is a strength.
Pilevallskolan is a F-9 school. The school has a football profile at the secondary level, and this autumn our fourth cohort will start. In our football program, students come from both Trelleborg and our neighboring municipalities. Our goal is to create a good operation with a high level of knowledge and great social competence, together with students and guardians, that provides our youth with the best conditions for succeeding in life.
You will be welcomed by a cheerful team with broad expertise and good cohesion! We help each other when needed and always have a laugh close at hand.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a school social worker who is prepared to take significant responsibility in our student health work. The student health team works preventively and health-promoting together with educators to create conditions for students to achieve the best possible academic results. Your assignment will particularly focus on students in grades 5-9.
As a social worker, you work to see the student in their entire context. You work to remove barriers to learning and contribute to students' development and health through your psychosocial competence. Your tasks include conducting conversations, such as support, motivation, and crisis conversations, as well as investigative and advisory conversations with individual students and their guardians in relation to the school situation. You will take the lead in structuring the school's value-based work. You collaborate with external agencies such as child and adolescent psychiatry, social services, leisure activities, and the police.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Experience working in schools or social services focused on children and youth, as well as knowledge of school governing documents, is an advantage.
The role requires good communication skills, as you will conduct conversations, investigations, hold presentations for colleagues, students, and guardians, and take meeting notes. Therefore, you need to be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.
To thrive and function in the role, it is crucial that you are secure and stable within yourself, with good self-awareness. Your values are well-grounded, and you have a strong integrity, which means you can make ethically sound decisions even in complex situations – for example, regarding confidentiality issues or when different interests need to be weighed against each other.
You take responsibility for your tasks and work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively. In challenging situations, you remain steady, maintain focus, and find constructive solutions that drive the work forward.
You communicate clearly, engagingly, and articulately – both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions with others, value differences, and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect people and collaboration.
If you recognize yourself in the description above and are ready for your next role with Trelleborg Municipality, we would love for you to reach out to us.
