About this role

There's Something Special About Avesta! It's not just about Dala horses and rushing waterfalls. Here, there's also willpower, courage, initiative, and hope for the future. It's the power of the people that makes Avesta unique. Together, we're building Avesta's future – do you want to join us? Karlbo School is a small F-6 school where everyone knows each other and we work together around our students. The school is characterized by a Movement Profile, where movement in various forms occurs regularly. We're Looking for Someone Who Wants to Work at a Small School Where Everyone Knows Each Other and We Collectively Take Responsibility for Creating Positive Learning Environments for Our Students. Together with the school's teaching team and student health team, you'll work to provide value and learning throughout the entire school day. We combine the short decision-making paths, proximity, and familial atmosphere of a small school with clear routines and systematic approaches to make doing things right easy. At our small school, collaborative work becomes a crucial success factor. You who are a good fit with us are positive and see solutions instead of obstacles. Job Responsibilities As a school group employee, you'll have a varied daily routine. In the position, you'll closely collaborate with teaching teams, student health services, and the principal to support students with knowledge and strategies to help them reach their maximum potential in academic and social development. You'll provide support to students, teachers, and guardians regarding social issues and collaborate with relevant professionals both inside and outside the school. In your role, you'll function as a bridge between students, school, home, and external resources to enable holistic solutions for students in need. You'll collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the classroom, working on student support and safety initiatives. Your approach will be coaching-oriented, working with students both individually and in groups, including one-on-one student conversations focused on behavioral change and social development. Together with other staff, you'll plan and implement activities based on curriculum goals and other applicable guiding documents. You'll become a crucial part of our safety work, helping to organize group-strengthening activities and providing guidance in conflict resolution between students throughout the school day. A significant focus will be on promoting school attendance and creating positive guardian relationships. With us, you'll have the opportunity to work at a school that prioritizes collaboration and student well-being. We offer a safe and developmental work environment with access to support from colleagues and school management. Requirements We're seeking candidates with an academic degree in social pedagogy or other post-secondary education focused on behavioral science, pedagogy, or equivalent. Previous experience working in schools, particularly with students facing social and learning challenges, is desired. As a person, you are confident, attentive, and skilled at creating positive relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You have strong pedagogical abilities and understanding of different human conditions, capable of providing positive support to help students reach their full potential. Additionally, you are experienced in managing and resolving conflicts and can efficiently prioritize tasks based on organizational needs. In our environment, no two days are the same, so you thrive in a dynamic setting and can flexibly adapt to changes during the workday. You must be comfortable taking independent initiatives focused on what's best for students and the organization. The position requires excellent Swedish language skills, both verbal and written.
