About this role

The Swedish School Research Institute is a government agency that works to ensure that education in preschools and schools is conducted on a scientific basis. We do this by compiling research results about teaching methods and approaches, and by financing practice-oriented school research. The target group for the institute's activities is preschool teachers, teachers, and other professionals in preschools, schools, and adult education. At Västgötagatan 5 in Södermalm, Stockholm, we offer stimulating tasks, competent colleagues, a creative work environment in an activity-based landscape, and the opportunity to work partly remotely. Currently, we have 22 employees, with more than half being doctoral researchers. With long-term enhanced funding, we are now able to grow – and are therefore seeking researchers/project managers who want to help shape the future with us. Description As a researcher/project manager, you will play a crucial role in driving and developing the institute's work of compiling and making research results about teaching methods and approaches accessible. You will work with systematic reviews and other types of publications. You will also participate in the institute's method development work and engage in other assignments and projects. Work Tasks Tasks as a researcher/project manager include: - Leading and actively participating in planning and implementing research projects, in collaboration with externally hired researchers and institute colleagues. - Ensuring research results are compiled with high scientific quality and contributing to presenting them in a useful way for those working in the school system. - Participating in the institute's research communication. As a researcher/project manager, you will also participate in other assignments such as colleagues' projects, the institute's work with referrals, and internal agency processes. Qualifications As a researcher/project manager, you should have a completed doctoral education with a relevant orientation in relation to the institute's mission. You should be analytical, quick to understand new knowledge areas, results-oriented, and have good knowledge and interest in research methodological issues. You should further have: - Ability to work systematically and structured and handle large amounts of information. - Ability to work independently. - Ability to collaborate with others and inspire project members. - Good ability to express yourself simply and clearly, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English. - Good knowledge of qualitative or quantitative methods. It is meritorious if you, for example, have: - Experience working with school issues within the school system or at a relevant agency. - Research background focused on pedagogy, didactics, or equivalent. - Experience participating in projects related to teaching and learning. - Experience working with systematic reviews. - Worked with method or quality development. - Worked as a project manager. In the recruitment, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities. Terms These are permanent positions with start date by agreement. The Swedish School Research Institute will apply a six-month probationary employment for these positions.
