School Librarian for Önsta Gryta School District

We are now seeking you who want to drive and develop the school library as part of our schools' pedagogical environment. Together with teachers and educators in the school area, you will continue to develop reading passion, learning, and curiosity throughout the school day! Your Work Tasks As a school librarian in our school area, you are a key person in our schools' reading promotion efforts. You work closely with both students and staff and contribute to making our libraries welcoming, reading-promoting, and creative meeting places. There are two positions divided across two schools each within the Önsta Gryta school area: • Apalbyskolan and Piltorpskolan (grades F–6) • Ormkärrskolan (grades F–6) and Önstaskolan (grades 7–9) Three of our four schools also include adapted primary education for students with intellectual disabilities. Your tasks include managing the school library's operations, planning and initiating book talks, reading projects, and theme days, and collaborating with teachers to integrate the library into instruction. You are also responsible for purchasing current fiction for all student groups and supporting students in information search and source criticism. Your Competence We are seeking someone with an academic degree in library and information science or another relevant academic degree. You have a great interest in schools and children's learning and want to develop the school library in close collaboration with school management and colleagues. Experience working in school libraries and/or other pedagogical settings is a plus. As a person, you are independent, take initiative, drive activities forward, and enjoy achieving results. At the same time, you have good collaborative skills and work well with others by being attentive, communicative, and solution-oriented. You have pedagogical insight and understand how people acquire knowledge in different ways, which allows you to adapt your approach to needs. Additionally, you are creative and contribute new ideas and working methods that develop the school library's operations.
