About this role
Västerås City has removed the requirement for a personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will play an important role in our selection work.
At Dingtuna School, you will have the opportunity to shape a completely new position where you will both drive the school library's reading promotion efforts and be responsible for the school's administrative processes. Your Responsibilities
Your tasks will be divided equally between the school library and school administration. It is your responsibility to drive and develop the library as part of the school's educational work. You will plan and implement book talks, reading projects, and theme days, collaborate with teachers to integrate the library into the curriculum, and support students in information retrieval and source criticism. You will also be responsible for purchasing current literature for all student groups. You will work closely with school management and staff on tasks such as student administration in IST, grade management, archiving, and record-keeping. You will review and code invoices and manage the payment of meal reimbursements.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in library and information science or another academic degree deemed relevant. You have good knowledge of children's and young adult literature and experience in administrative work within a school setting. Experience in record-keeping, archiving, and working as a librarian or school librarian is a plus, as are additional language skills beyond Swedish and a strong interest in literature.
You are self-driven, structured, and have good collaboration skills. You build relationships, communicate well in various contexts, and are service-oriented. Educational insight and the ability to tailor your message to your audience are important aspects of the role.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.
