Would you like to help develop and contribute to the sustainable development of our school libraries together with principals, teachers, and school librarians? Do you have the interest and passion to work with youth? Do you have knowledge and experience in promoting reading and media and information literacy? Then this position might be for you! We are looking for a school librarian focusing on grades 7-9.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities include supporting students' language development, information literacy, and source criticism in collaboration with teaching staff in primary and adapted primary schools. In dialogue with the principal, you, as a school librarian, will contribute to compensating for differences in students' backgrounds and conditions based on the units' systematic quality work.
The role involves working both in the school library and with teaching. You will also be responsible for purchasing and weeding literature to maintain an updated collection in the school libraries. The position also requires you to work independently to plan, implement, and follow up on activities.
You will belong to the administration's Development Support unit, which also includes other development support functions in mathematics, language, after-school care, and two additional school librarians.

Your workplaces will be Hammarlundens School 7-9 and Mörmoskolan 7-9.
The position will commence as agreed, starting in spring 2026.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hammarö Municipality is seeking a library-educated school librarian or a certified teacher in Swedish with strong knowledge and experience in how pedagogical work enhances students' language skills and digital competence. It is advantageous if you have academic courses in source criticism and media and information literacy.
You have a strong ability to collaborate with teachers and principals regarding students' learning and enjoy working with children and youth. You possess good knowledge of children's and youth literature across various genres as well as analog and digital media. Experience working in a podcast studio is a merit.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, particularly your relational skills.
