Do you see the forest through the trees? We are now seeking a driven and meticulous forest planner. You will be part of the Forest Unit and work to manage Borås City's 10,700 hectares of forest land and land reserve.

The Forest Unit conducts certified forest management and belongs to the Parks and Forest Division, which is responsible for the city's parks, forests, nature reserves, hunting, fishing issues, and employment in labor market policy measures. The division collaborates closely with other actors and plays a crucial role in creating and preserving an attractive city.
Forest Planner
Job Responsibilities
The position of forest planner involves responsibility for planning and follow-up of forestry measures on Borås City land. The work includes field inventory, revision of forest management plans, and planning of logging, forest management, and maintenance of forest roads. The position involves collaboration with contractors and other units within the municipality to ensure sustainable forest management.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a higher education in forestry and preferably with several years of practical industry experience. To succeed in the role, you need experience in forest planning and planning tools. You are service-oriented and professional with great commitment to your tasks. Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing is important in the position. You enjoy working outdoors and independently. Good GIS skills are meritorious, and a B driver's license and competency certificate for SYN Nature and Cultural Considerations are required. As a forest planner, you will report to the Forest Unit manager.
