We are now seeking a Chief of Shooting Safety/Staff Officer who wants to serve in the regimental staff's Implementation and Exercise Department.
The Implementation and Exercise Department is a combined department working together.
Currently, A 9 consists of approximately 165 employees.
A 9 is growing and in need of new employees to meet assigned tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
As Chief of Shooting Safety, you will:
• Be the regiment's primary representative for shooting safety
• Train safety controllers for gun companies and shooting leaders
• Assist the G7 chief in planning A9 exercise activities
• Lead and conduct safety work during the basic training battalion's live-fire exercises with indirect fire, calculating shooting boundaries and risk areas for firing units and fire controllers
REQUIREMENTS/Qualifications
• Good ability to calculate shooting boundaries and risk areas
• Personal experience leading live-fire exercises with indirect fire systems
• Good tactical understanding of indirect fire management
• Is or has been an artillery officer with completed tactical and technical training to at least major/administrator rank
• B driver's license
