Welcome to join us on this journey! The Technical Services Administration is Trelleborg Municipality's enabling department. We are a reliable, secure, and value-creating resource that works proactively, efficiently, and sustainably with those who live, work, and spend time in Trelleborg Municipality. The department's five divisions have overall responsibility in various areas for planning, managing, and developing public spaces. We do this, for example, by maintaining the municipality's public areas, waste management, sewage management, water supply, and infrastructure. We also deliver internal services such as operation and maintenance of municipal facilities, cleaning, system management, and IT support. Workplace In the Operations and Maintenance Unit, you will be part of our team responsible for the western parts of Trelleborg. We are about 18 maintenance workers who together manage and maintain the municipality's streets, squares, and green areas. During certain periods, we also collaborate with the eastern team on joint assignments. In your work, you will receive support from both the section manager and the area manager on-site. The work primarily takes place during the day, but some shifts during inconvenient hours may occur. We are now looking for someone to strengthen our operations organization. Job Responsibilities As a maintenance worker with us, you will work with a variety of tasks that include large-scale operations of parks, bathing areas, streets, squares, parking areas, natural areas, bus stops, etc. Your responsibilities include maintaining playgrounds, mowing grass, trimming hedges and bushes, as well as emptying trash bins, among other tasks. Qualifications For the position of maintenance worker, we are looking for someone with excellent machine handling skills, who has professional experience operating various types of construction machinery and has the ability to manage and operate our machines responsibly. Furthermore, we expect you to safely and efficiently operate and maintain different types of machinery that are central to our operations, such as ride-on mowers, tractors, wheel excavators, etc. You should have a good understanding of the machines' functions and capacities to perform basic service. A valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required for the position. Experience in green space maintenance and landscaping in public outdoor environments is an advantage. The work can be physically demanding, so you need to be in good physical condition. Since we communicate daily with colleagues and citizens, as well as work according to written instructions and routines at the workplace, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You enjoy working independently and are self-driven, motivated by taking responsibility for your work. For the role of maintenance worker, attention to detail and a service-oriented approach are essential. You work with a focus on the unit's mission, and in your role as a maintenance worker, you are a good ambassador for Trelleborg Municipality. Your ability to see what needs to be done and to take initiative are qualities that will make you successful in this position.
