About this role

Do you have a clinical background as a veterinary nurse and want to lead others? AniCura is now looking for a Head Nurse for the animal hospital in Kumla! At AniCura Kumla Animal Hospital, we meet pet owners and their animals when they need us the most. No two days are alike here – we offer emergency care, advanced surgery, treatment, rehabilitation, and… breakfast on Fridays. It takes energy to save lives! About the Role As the Head Nurse, you will be a key person in our management team. You will lead and develop a team of 14 dedicated veterinary nurses and animal caretakers. The role is both strategic and operational – approximately 40% administrative and 60% clinical work. You will be responsible for recruitment, employee evaluations and salary setting, professional development, work environment, and scheduling, while also being a reassuring presence in clinical work. You will have the support of the hospital manager, chief veterinarian, veterinary manager, and support functions such as HR, payroll department, medical partners, and more. We Offer You • A role where you can combine practical clinical work with leadership • Wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK/year, shoe allowance of 600 SEK/year • The possibility to bring your dog to work • Employee discounts and collective agreements • Spacious facilities for clinical work and a private office for meetings and administrative time • Proximity to Örebro – a vibrant city just 20 minutes away • Professional development and training within the AniCura network Who Are You? You are someone who naturally steps forward when something needs to be organized – at work, in projects, or perhaps in everyday life. You enjoy creating order, encouraging collaboration, and seeing a group grow. Developing others energizes you, and you view change as an opportunity to improve things, not as an obstacle. You have a background as a licensed veterinary nurse, preferably with knowledge in anesthesia. Experience in leadership is a plus, but the most important qualities are that you are communicative, confident, coaching, and curious about driving improvements. Practical Information • The position is full-time with a probationary period. • The position is on-site at the animal hospital. • Start date is according to agreement. • Clinical work during evenings and weekends may occur to some extent. Ready to take the next step? Apply as soon as possible, interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis – We look forward to hearing from you! Do you have questions about the position or just want to make initial contact? We would be happy to hear from you!
