Department 29, MAVA The majority of all acute admissions within the NU Healthcare area of medicine will primarily be handled at Department 29 (MAVA - Medical Acute Care Unit). Patients are admitted to MAVA from the emergency department and will be offered prompt examination and treatment for their acute issues before being transferred to the appropriate care unit or discharged home. MAVA consists of two parts - a general internal medicine section with 24 care places and an observation section with 8 care places. In the observation section, patients with medical, orthopedic, and surgical diagnoses are cared for and are expected to have a maximum length of stay of 24 hours before being discharged or moved to another department. Observation places are available for patients assessed in the emergency room as requiring further observation and monitoring before discharge or possible admission to a care unit. At MAVA, we focus on development and are always open to positive changes that optimize care for patients and staff! We therefore have a development group within the department that works on improvement projects. We offer a varied and developing work environment where you will gain broad medical competence. We regularly provide lectures, skills development, and simulations. As a newly hired employee at MAVA, we offer you a mentor in addition to your supervisor. This will be a registered nurse with experience and broad competence who acts as your sounding board and supports you beyond the clinical work. Qualifications Certified nurse. Prior experience in acute care is an advantage, but we place great emphasis on personal qualities. We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, a positive spirit, and a drive to enhance care, patient safety, and your own competence.
