The neurology clinic is a specialist facility for the investigation, care, and treatment of patients with confirmed or suspected neurological diseases. The unit consists of a comprehensive outpatient service with responsibilities for acute neurological conditions and has access to inpatient beds in the neuro and stroke department if hospital care is required. Our clinic has a close collaboration with the Regional Hospital in Umeå, including shared telemedicine consultations. Neurology has undergone significant development over the past few years, and we are part of that. Development and improvements are part of our everyday workflow.
Our team, which consists of approximately 20 employees, operates in multiprofessional teams made up of doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, and administrative assistants. For patients who require additional measures, we collaborate with Östersund's rehabilitation center at Remonthagen as well as other services, such as Psychiatry and Storsjögläntan.
For patients with ALS and Huntington’s disease, we have a team that includes a speech therapist, social worker, and dietitian in addition to our own specialties. We are responsible for patients with brain tumors and work in teams around these patients. We also have a close collaboration with the oncology department in Umeå.
The field of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, neurology, rehabilitation, and rheumatology (HNR) includes both acute and planned operations, and the involved units comprise 3 care departments and 5 outpatient clinics.
TASKS
Currently, five nurses at the neurology clinic work as contact nurses for patient groups with epilepsy, MS, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone diseases, and brain tumors. We are now seeking a nurse who can take on the role of contact nurse for other patients, both those undergoing investigation and those with rarer neurological diagnoses. The position is a developmental role where you will have the opportunity to shape content and working methods together with the team.
The role also includes work in outpatient care, where we administer infusion treatments and chemotherapy. Additionally, you will work with telephone advice, sample collection, and various other tasks in close collaboration with our other nurses and professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed nurse who enjoys working in a team and wants to contribute to the development of our operations. Experience in neurology and familiarity with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage.
