Here, you will experience both challenging trials and amazing events, in a strong community with colleagues. View parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se. Welcome to apply! Our Department At our Infection Diseases Emergency Department, we receive adult patients with infections requiring specialist care. This can involve acute conditions, as well as complicated infections that may require investigation and sometimes prolonged treatment. Our emergency department is open from 07:30 – 21:30 every day of the week. The breadth and variation of patients we care for makes the work interesting and enjoyable. Many diagnoses we handle are common in society, such as respiratory infections, wound infections, sepsis, or meningitis, while other infections are rarer, like tropical medicine diseases. Patients can seek care directly through our emergency intake, or be referred here or arrive by ambulance. We examine, investigate, and treat our patients during their visit. The work pace is often high, and patient flow can sometimes be intense, making workdays rich in content. The knowledge you gain here is valuable and applicable. Experience in infection care is useful in most nursing specialties and is an excellent merit for those dreaming of working internationally. The Infection Care Department constantly faces new challenges with outbreaks of both domestic and global infections. Modern treatment methods and new technology create opportunities to improve patient care. We are therefore seeking someone with genuine interest in infection care who wants to help develop our operations to meet an exciting future. Our goal is to provide world-class care together! Your Role As a nurse in the Infection Diseases Emergency Department, you will work in a team with doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants. It is an independent role where your clinical assessment skills are crucial, but support is always available. The nurse's task is to manage patient flow and logistics to ensure effective and patient-safe acute care. This involves initial triage, sample collection, and patient prioritization. You will have a central role in patient management focused on investigation, diagnostics, and initiating treatment. The work involves extensive patient contact and requires a developed understanding of patient care needs. You will be the patient's security and support in a situation that can be stressful for both the patient and their relatives. Most patients are treated in the infection clinic for a limited time, but some receive treatment for many years due to long-term or recurring infections. Your Qualifications You are a licensed nurse with special interest in emergency and infection care, or a specialist nurse in infection care. We prefer candidates with some years of professional experience, but we are experienced in hiring newly graduated nurses. Previous experience in emergency departments or infection care is meritorious. Here, you will develop at your own pace, and we offer continuous education and skills development. Your Competence You enjoy working in an emergency flow with constantly new patient contacts. You can maintain composure in acute situations and manage task prioritization during high workloads. You are accustomed to working independently but also enjoy being part of a team. We place great importance on personal qualities and the desire to develop through continuous learning. Many areas are available for specialization, and we encourage all initiatives for increased knowledge and improvement work. We Offer In line with the hospital's sustainable staffing initiative, we have a long-term plan for recruiting and retaining nurses to build a stable work group. This is evident through our commitment to ensuring you and your colleagues enjoy, develop, and experience job satisfaction. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, many with specialist training. During your first year, an experienced colleague trained in clinical supervision will guide you into your new role. We apply healthy working hours and actively work on scheduling to accommodate individual preferences and needs. The position includes evening and weekend work. We hire continuously, so don't hesitate to submit your application.
