We are looking for nurses for summer positions in the summer of 2026 at Torsby Hospital and in primary care. You can indicate your preferred placement when you submit your application.
Your workplace
Our healthcare is knowledge-based and purpose-driven, individualized, efficient, and equitable. We work with person-centered care that is based on the individual patient's needs. Care should be provided close to the patient and on the patient's terms.
Torsby Hospital is an acute care hospital with two wards, dialysis, and an integrated intensive care (ICU)/intermediate care (IMC) unit. The hospital is relatively small but has a wide catchment area and is located 11 miles from the Central Hospital in Karlstad. This means that the spectrum of diseases is varied and broad, allowing for quick acquisition of good knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses.
The health center is part of primary care, which is the foundation of healthcare in Värmland and offers care at all stages of life. At the health center, our patients receive assessment, investigation, treatment, follow-up, and rehabilitation depending on their illness and symptoms. Eight out of ten patients complete their treatment with us.
Your responsibilities
We are seeking nurses for summer positions in the summer of 2026, with good opportunities for permanent employment!
We offer you a stimulating job, and with your help, both we and the patients will improve. As a summer employee, you will receive an introduction to your role and the opportunity for mentorship support. We believe that healthcare must be based on our patients' needs and our employees' competencies.
As a nurse, you will lead and be responsible for the daily care of patients and perform common nursing tasks such as medication management and care work. In your daily interactions with patients, you will play an important role in collaboration with other staff categories.
Your skills and competencies
You are a licensed nurse or are expected to obtain your license by spring/summer 2026.

This means you are easy to collaborate with, take responsibility for your tasks, and are flexible. Your working approach is patient-focused with an ability to see the bigger picture.
