About this role
Welcome to Department 34!
We are a neurology and rehabilitation unit where we care for patients with neurological symptoms and diagnoses and rehabilitate individuals with acquired brain injuries.
We receive patients with neurological symptoms directly from the emergency room and sometimes from the neurology clinic. We also have planned admissions from home directly to the department. On dedicated care beds, we have patients who need the expertise of our brain injury team for their rehabilitation.
The department's various teams include doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, music therapist, social workers, neuropsychologists, dietitian, and speech therapists. We monitor movement patterns of patients with Parkinson's, provide treatments for various neurological diseases, prepare for PEG insertions, and perform PEF checks to evaluate lung capacity for some of our patients.
We provide rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injuries from incidents such as car, fall, and bicycle accidents, near-drowning, stroke, and more. We rehabilitate patients with high spinal injuries, often involving advanced care such as tracheostomies, ventilator treatment, and cough assist machines. We also provide training for personal assistants before patient discharge. To gain in-depth knowledge of general neurology and brain injury rehabilitation, we offer training courses at the department.
Your Workplace
We are now seeking additional nursing colleagues who want to become part of our fantastic team. As a newcomer to the department, you will receive an introduction with an experienced supervisor, and afterwards, a mentor will be available for support.

We observe symptoms, movement patterns, perform PEF checks, and prepare for lumbar punctures. We also provide rehabilitation after acquired brain injuries, where we are part of the rehabilitation process. We assist in training mobility, contracture prevention, communication, and memory. This is just a small part of what we do in the department. We also care for patients requiring advanced medical care such as home ventilators and cough assist machines connected to tracheostomies.
Our focus is to care for our patients by seeing the whole person, understanding their needs, and supporting their relatives.
