We are looking for nurses for summer positions in the summer of 2026 at Central Hospital Karlstad, primary care, and psychiatry. You will be able to specify your placement preferences when you submit your application.

Central Hospital in Karlstad is a modern and complete county hospital for the entire population of Värmland. It offers highly specialized care that most people need only a few times in their lives. There are about twenty different specialties, including ophthalmology, dermatology, gynecology, nephrology, pediatrics, surgery, PCI, and oncology.
The health center is part of primary care, which is the foundation of healthcare in Värmland, offering care at all stages of life. At the health center, our patients receive assessment, investigation, treatment, follow-up, and rehabilitation based on their illness and symptoms. Eight out of ten patients are fully treated with us.
The adult psychiatric clinic is a new area of operation and encompasses specialized psychiatry in both outpatient and inpatient care for all of Värmland. This service has a broad basic offering from diagnostics to treatment and continuously strives to improve, build relationships, and develop collaboration.
Your responsibilities
We are looking for nurses for summer positions in the summer of 2026 for several of our clinics and departments at Central Hospital in Karlstad. We offer you a stimulating job, and with your help, both we and the patients will improve.
As a summer employee, you will receive an introduction to your role and the opportunity for mentorship support. A summer position with us is a great start to your career as a nurse.
As a nurse, you will lead and be responsible for the daily care around the patient and perform common nursing tasks such as medication management, rounds, and care work. In your daily interactions with patients, you play an important role in collaboration with other staff categories.
Your qualifications and competencies
You are a licensed nurse or are expected to obtain your license by spring/summer 2026.

This means you are easy to collaborate with, take responsibility for your tasks, and are flexible. Your working approach is patient-focused with an ability to see the whole picture.
